Hi all!


My daughter is after a pompom cardigan this winter, (well they look like pompoms) I was wondering if anyone has a pattern they might like to share please.

I did look online and the cardigan is quite expensive to buy.

Yeah, I searched through the arts & crafts section but think i could be looking for a while. So if anyone has an idea or where i might be able to get a pattern rather cheap please feel free to lemme know.

I'm being a bit tight atm that cost of a pattern could go towards a ball of yarn

Try Ravelry dot com. You have to register but there are so many patterns on there, a lot of them are free.

try pinterest. Another suggestion, find a plain chunky cardigan pattern and adapt it to put the large bobbles on it, you should be able to find out how to make them by googling ''how to make a large bobble stitch'' which is what your ''pompoms look like to me. Happy hunting.

It looks like a popcorn stitch but just way bigger popcorns than I have ever done on a sweater and some call it 3D bubble stitch. Not sure how adventurous you are but I wanted to make a popcorn cardigan but it had a v-neck and I wanted a high neck as it was for a baby and I mixed the two and it turned out fine. If you could find any pattern that is a similar style to what she wants then you could do those bubbles on the arms. I"m sure there are videos on how to do that particular stitch so you could likely incorporate it. I tried to find a pattern similar but not with those bubbles at all.

Am going to send you a link via private message to a video. It is similar style but video is not in English but it does have subtitles and there is a description below in English. It may help with searching at least since she uses a different term for that stitch.

I have taken your suggestions into consideration and i do have a few pattern cardigans that can prob be adapted to that stitch.
Good ole youtube lol. I feel more confident in knitting not crochet doing the pompom, bobble, raspberry or trinity stitch. yep even learnt there is more then one name for it

I'm not that advance of a knitter where i can just create (if only) I need help like the use of a pattern and a vid

the secret to an adaption of a pattern is Tension, always do a sample piece, change needles to get the right tension and once you have the correct no of stitches/rows to a stated size you are sorted. Feel free to come back with any question or queries although there are some knitting pages on facebook where you might get faster and better responses/help/guidance
