    Default Best Diet out today?

    What do you think is the best diet out right now? Pills, food etc.

    There are so many out there to choose from! I seem to feel better and lose weight easier on a high protein, low fat diet. However, this winter I am trying something new. I am a bit of a history buff and ran across some information on weight differences through the decades in America. It was interesting to see what they ate and did and how it affected their bodies. The most interesting to me was the 1950's on. The clothing sizes were standard. If you were a size 10 in one brand, you were a size ten in any brand. The measurements for the sizes were much smaller then, too. What they mentioned on diet and weight issues were that they were very rare. Reasons why included a more active life style, a smaller dinner plate, and less seasoning in the food---meaning people weren't tempted to over eat simply because of the taste. So I am cutting back on processed foods, and eating much smaller portions. I have tried to be a little more physically active, but have been fighting a cold and have not felt up to much. I have not had the stomach issues that I had before and am anxious to continue!

    Low carb, low fat and lots of water is the best way to go

    However if you like ice cream it's easy to reck. I love cotton candy

    To me, the best diet is eating as healthy as possible (easier said than done ), drinking enough fluids so your urine is relatively clear, and getting as much rest as your body needs (again, easier said than done!) The reason I mention rest is because studies have shown that when we are awake longer, we eat more - makes sense, I guess.

    And I know it may not be the popular way to think these days, but it's so important we don't smoke, drink alcohol, take drugs that we're not supposed to, etc. Our bodies were never meant to ingest that stuff and we usually end up paying for it, especially as we get older.
    You know the ol' saying: "junk in, junk out". If we try to eat the right kinds of foods, with the least amount of chemicals, additives, etc., we'll be providing the best fuel source for our bodies and our bodies will function better, be stronger to fight off any flu that's floating around, kill off bacteria and anything else we accidentally ingest, etc.
    We'll be healthier and ultimately happier.
    And (this is most important) whatever weight we are, that's fine (unless we're medically obese, and most of us aren't).
    We need to stop thinking that thinner is better - it usually isn't.
    If we "try to be something we're not", our bodies just fight us and eventually, possibly end up gaining the weight we lost and then some. It's almost as if our bodies 'panic' and act like we're going through a 'famine' when we starve ourselves and prepare for another famine in the near future by storing up fat when we do eat. I know it sounds strange but a lot of doctors/nutritionists have agreed that this is what happens - and you know how unusual it is for doctors/medical type persons to agree on anything!

    Anyway, back to what I was saying, a lot of us want to be thin - often to be attractive to the opposite sex. Too many guys are superficial/shallow and the way I see it; if someone isn't interested in you unless you wear a certain dress size, is he really the kind of guy you want to be in a serious relationship with?
    And what if you're the 'perfect' size for him and he does pay attention to you and a 'better looking' woman crosses his path? Will he be faithful to you or will his eyes start to wonder...? Can you trust him?
    Whereas if you don't look like a fashion model (or an escapee from a concentration camp) and a guy is interested in you, then possibly he's interested in you as a person rather than just a pretty 'ornament' to brag to his friends about, etc.


    A lot of us torture ourselves and make our lives miserable trying to appeal to the opposite sex when really we should try to take care of ourselves and be a little kinder to ourselves. That's the best kind of lifestyle and diet I can think of.
