It's really hard to day. I have a nephew who is 5, he got a Leap Pad 2 for Christmas and he did really well for a while. One day he got angry and he leaned on it and cracked the screen. He does really well on my nook tablet but I keep an eye on him after what happened.

This is really worrisome considering that case where there was nickel allergies due to the tablet. Really worried about giving my tablet to my little kids...
Has anyone else seen any case of such allergies?

It is difficult enough as it is to prevent young kids from spending all their time with tablets, phones, and computers without giving them access when they are still toddlers.
I would like to advise you to stand firm in not giving one to your daughter but that will be really hard with the other children playing with theirs all day long in the same house.
Maybe you could come to an agreement with your sister-in-law about limiting the time her children spend on their tablets but again, they sound like they are addicted already
    and this probably won't work.

When my children were growing up, we freely allowed them to play on their computers (no tablets back then) at first -- so easy to let them as they would leave me alone -- but they got so addicted that we had to enforce a strict rule about turning on the computer only on weekends. This was so difficult for everyone at first, with them badgering me that they had nothing to do so, were so bored, complaining that all their friends could play with computers so why couldn't they, and so on. They literally did not know how else to spend their time, but they learned to accept this rule and adapt in the end.

Thumbs up Get Kids Handle Shockproof EVA Foam Case Stand Cover & Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Before fitting my sons iPad & Mini-iPad with the below case and Tempered glass screen protector, they would drop their iPads at least once per day from hip height.

I had to replace their cracked screen twice already.
Expensive cost replacement screen service + screen cost of [Aus] ~ $150 each

Then I bought the below for my 2 little boys.

This has saved their iPad & Mini iPad from a cracked screen several times already.

Now with the foam-handle on their iPad & glass screen protector, they are less likely to damage their iPads from minor falls.

Kids Handle Shockproof EVA Foam Case Stand Cover For iPad/Mini-iPad

Should cost between [Aus] ~ $12 -$20 Ebay.

Other designs with chuncky 2 side handles [short side] & stand can interfere with the play experience.

    Tempered Glass Screen Protector

    Should cost between [Aus] ~ $15 - $20 Ebay.

I am raising my 3 year old grandson. We allow him to play on his Nabi 2 Learning Tablet during longer drives, or for about an hour at a time every so often, or if we are attending an event that is long and drawn out(something very boring for him like a graduation lol). He does not seem to have any problem giving it up or not using it most of the time. Overall he would rather run, and or play with trucks, cars and super heroes

I shake my head when I see little kids with tablets or iphones.. they are getting addicted to technology way too earlier.. how are they gonna enjoy offline stuff if they are given online stuff at a young age
