“I don’t need a happily ever after, J, I just need the ever after part.
The adjective can be whatever.
Up and down ever after, sometimes rocky ever after, crazy ever after — I don’t give a sh**.
As long as you stick around, we’ll just do the best we can, day after day.”

I updated yesterday, and it was fine when I opened it this morning, but I backed it all up just in case. Thanks for the heads up!

My update to 1.18 is working fine.
I'm wondering if your library is still on your hard drive and it's just that Calibre isn't 'seeing' it for whatever reason (i.e., you asked the program to create a new library, or the metadata database file is corrupt?)?

kindlelover makes a good point calibre is not where your library is stored it just manages it. if it created a new library that would be empty but the old one should still be on your harddrive. if you check your harddrive and find your library you just have to go to switch/create library and put in the location of your original library
I notice that last night. while i was converting and deleted a dup. it removed it from my hard Drive, In some cases that would be good but other well, hopefully I can find the book again. It didn't delete my entire library but Its good to know for future reference.

I've been leery since my prior update froze up my keyboard drivers. I ended up needing to do a restore. Think I'll wait a while to update again.
Thanks for the info on this. I always update, but I'm waiting on this one. I'm a Mac user, so after I update, I'll report back. I definitely appreciate the heads up.
Whew! thanks for the warning. I havent updated mine yet but planning to do it this weekend
that would be a nightmare ! Anyway, i had no prob with the 1.18 or 1.19 update . windows 8.1.
I would recommend to have a backup of your books in an external drive .It's good for the stress!
