Hi,
I'm thinking of creating a family tree using photos as well as names of family members. I'm still trying to figure out how to lay it out.
If you have any examples or suggestions, they would be most appreciated.
Cheers. ^_^

Are you wanting to make this on your own in a photo program or are you looking at more of a software to use?
I myself use Ancestry.com but if you don't want to pay a subscription you can try out their Family Tree software. I'm not sure if they allow photos on the software but the site itself does.
If your using a photo program or even Word or Excel it would really depend on how extensive your family tree will be.
I will be creating the family tree on my own using Photoshop. I've already done the family trees on both sides, using excel. I've got some ideas using just names to form the shape of a tree, just trying to figure out how I can merge both sides of the family. Otherwise I'll just create 2 trees.
Once that's done, I want to create a more extensive tree using photos. I'm starting with my grandparents, down four generations to the great-grandkids. Quite a lot of photos. My idea is to have my grandparents photos in the middle, then branching out from them, their kids, and then the grandkids, and finally the great-grandchildren.
I was looking for some design ideas. I'm thinking of using some kind of brocade background, and some kind of mask to frame the photos. Not sure what kind of frame though. And not sure how I'll connect the photos (the branches).
I've done a google image search, but have had any inspiration from that. I was hoping for some visual examples if possible. Or any other ideas anyone might have. ^_^
Thanks.
when i did my family tree i was very old school i drew a tree then i work images into the raw pencil and paper design of the tree so it look like we were all a part of the drawing. it's been done a lot. lol but old ideas look cool sometimes
