    Default Anxiety

Just wondering if you feel anxiety like some sort of wave...because I do. Sometimes, out of the blue, I feel suffocated and unable to breathe and get really really scared. I know that this is the beggining of a panic attack in my mind but in my heart/ soul, I don't known how to explain, I can't avoid this. I don't know what to do...

I have issues with this too and its not fun. Try and get some professional help. I can tell you a coping method they teach here. When you feel an attack coming try and stay in the present. By that, I mean use your five senses and concentrate on that. What are you smelling, tasting, hearing, seeing, touching? Describe the things you sense in detail. It sounds very simple but is actually hard to do and, yes, sometimes it doesn't work so don't get discouraged if you try it and it doesn't work.

I suffer from anxiety as well. I would feel fine one second and then extremely blue the next. I understand the wave you are talking about. I talked to a therapist and am taking anti depressants which for me are working. She also gave me coping devices like focusing on my breathing and little things that can, if not stop an anxiety attack, lessen it to where it's not so bad. Sending cyber hugs and well wishes to you.

I'm learning some meditation techniques and trying to stay grounded but sometimes is just to much...I'm learning to stay in the present and letting go but it's not easy.

It's definitely hard to handle anxiety. Our brains are so powerful! LOL Best thing is to have support and keep going on. Some days will be harder than others but you're not alone in this. I also like to reward myself with a little something at times. If I have to do something and start to feel anxious (usually my stomach tightening up is a first sign for me), I say I'll do it and when its done and over with I'll treat myself to a new book, drink, some type of snack/food, clothing, going to the park/gardens/lake, etc. Doesn't have to be expensive. It gives me a little boost of 'Yay! I did it!' and helps to reinforce that its not as bad as I thought it would be. Everyone is different in what works for them, you just have to find it.

I'm coping...Now, when I feel an attack coming, I just take a deep breath and count to ten in my head. It's not enough but it helps in the moment.

I was laid off from work, and it has been hard, i was burnout and now I am feeling really anxious to apply in other companies, i am unable to process things at the moment and was thinking of buying this anti anxiety journal from therapy notebooks, have you guys tried it out, it's on the expensive side in my country, hence was looking for some organic review

It's been difficult lately...writing is helping me to cope. I just use a notebook and write everything and anything that comes to mind like quotes, lyrics, random things; singing while doing the dishes helps too.

I think getting help from doctors is very helpful. Learning how to cope is so important to mental health
